Everybody Reads, our partner from the United Kingdom, has given Diverse Talent permission to bring its reading platform to ethnic minority students in Hong Kong, free of charge, as a charitable programme.
Schools and teachers can ask now.
Reading level
The words, the sentences and the length of a chapter.
Real age
The themes and the ages of the characters.
Everybody Reads is an AI-powered reading platform for schools, made in the United Kingdom. Its founder, Marc Graham, was a primary school teacher for 16 years.
The platform, its stories and its research belong to Everybody Reads. Diverse Talent did not make it and does not own it. Our part is to bring it to students here.
This is how Everybody Reads describes its own platform.
Each student designs a character, who then stars in every story they read.
The words follow the student’s reading level. The themes follow the student’s real age, so an older student who is still learning is not handed a book written for small children.
Short questions follow each chapter and show how much was understood.
Teachers see each student’s progress on a dashboard, with no marking to do.
A student can hear any word read aloud and see what it means. The size and spacing of the text can be changed.
Everybody Reads gave this permission for ethnic minority students in particular. It belongs under our third aim, and it is the first thing under that aim that we can offer to students directly.
It costs the school and the student nothing.
Everybody Reads is holding a free morning for teachers and school leaders. Diverse Talent is one of its supporters.
The morning presents new research from the University of Strathclyde on reading progress with the platform, for primary schools, secondary schools and special educational needs.
Free to attend. Places are limited. Registration is handled by Everybody Reads, on its own form.
Students read and answer in English. Everybody Reads says the platform works alongside a school’s own support for students who are learning English.
The Everybody Reads website describes the platform for primary school students, aged about 5 to 11. Its Hong Kong event also covers secondary schools. We will check for you.
Everybody Reads says the platform works on a tablet, a laptop or a phone.
Everybody Reads says the data is hosted in Europe and is never used to train AI models. Please read its privacy policy before you decide.
