There is room for you in this

We are a young initiative, so each person who joins counts for a lot. Tell us how you would like to help, and a person will write back.

Volunteer

Our volunteers have helped seniors through an eye screening, backed training days and spoken at a public forum. You do not need experience.

A group leans in around a table as a man in a suit points out the controls of a fundus camera and another man steadies the head of the person seated at it.
New volunteers watch how the camera is operated. Fun-Tastic’s volunteer training, 12 September 2026.
  • Who

Students, working adults, anyone willing to learn. Every background is welcome.

  • What you would do

It depends on what is coming up. The most recent examples are on our journey page.

  • Training first

For screening days with seniors, you are trained before you start: the equipment, consent, and how to explain a result kindly.

Under 18 and keen to help: you are welcome to write. Tell us your age and we will explain what is needed before you join.

AI-assisted retinal screening is a risk screen, not a medical diagnosis. It does not replace an examination by an ophthalmologist or optometrist.

Partner with us

We work best alongside others. Many of the events on our record began with an invitation from another organisation.

Schools

Bring your students into the same room as ours, for service or for training. On 22 September 2026, students at Caritas Ma On Shan Secondary School learned to operate fundus cameras at a Fun-Tastic training led by our Project Director.

A classroom seen from the back: students at their desks watch a trainer who raises her arm towards a screen showing photographs of retinas.

Charities and community groups

Invite us. On 13 March 2026 the Lions Club did, and our volunteers supported the eye screening at a carnival in Sheung Shui. We bring young volunteers who are ready to learn the job you need done.

Companies

Your staff can volunteer beside our young people, or your company can back the work. We will tell you plainly what we can and cannot do.

Come to an event

We do not keep a public events calendar yet. Tell us you would like to come along, and we will write to you when there is something you can join.

We post about our events on LinkedIn.

Fundraise

Rally your friends, your class or your company to raise something for the work. Please write to us first, so that we can agree how the money is collected and passed on properly.

Donations and governance sit with Fun-Tastic Limited, a registered charity in Hong Kong (charity no. 91/19141).

Questions people ask

Do I need experience to volunteer?

No. For screening days with seniors, training comes first. In September 2026, at Fun-Tastic sessions led by our Project Director, new volunteers and secondary school students learned to operate the eye screening equipment, to ask for consent and to explain a result with care.

Can I volunteer if I am under 18?

Young people are at the centre of what we do, and secondary school students trained at a session our Project Director led in September 2026. If you are under 18, tell us your age when you write and we will explain what is needed before you join.

Can my school, charity or company take part?

Yes, please write to us. We often work alongside other organisations, and several of the events on our record began with an invitation.

How do I hear about what you are doing?

Follow Diverse Talent on LinkedIn, where we post about our events. You can also write to us and ask.

What happens to the details I send?

The form opens your own email app, and nothing you type is stored on this website. When your email reaches us, we use it only to reply to you.

If none of these fits, write anyway
